You can’t stop your car’s interior from getting dirty-especially the floors. Just imagine the dirt people can carry in their shoes every time they get in. Also, your car floor is prone to wear and tear which can make them look unsightly.

That is why it is important to have proper care and maintenance for your car’s floor.  So, here are 2 simple ways you can do to keep your car floor clean and prevent them from wearing out fast.

1. Use  Floor Mats.  Give your car floors advanced protection from dirt and debris by using car floor mats.It is the easiest way to keep your car floor’s upholstery clean, protecting it from spilled drinks and food, tracked-in mud, water, or dirt that can leave stains. Also, it helps prevent your floor upholstery from premature wear and tear.

Additionally, floor mats are easy to clean and maintain. If they get dirty, you can simply take them out of the car and wash them or shake off any debris and dust. This will keep you from cleaning the actual car floor upholstery every time there is dirt.

Using car floor mats are a great way to reduce the amount of dirt that will come in contact with your floor and will save you a ton of workload.See here

2. Do the Actual Cleaning. While floormats can act as a barrier between the dirt, dust, and debris that may come in contact with your car floor upholstery, you still need to do the actual cleaning-especially before you put the floor mats. Take out all the trash that’s in your car. You might want to check spilled food especially chips or crumbs of bread hiding in the seats. You can use a car vacuum to take out all the dust and dirt on your car floor.

Make sure to clean the seats as well and your dashboard to avoid dirt from falling into the floor. Use a damp microfibre cloth so it picks up more dirt than your regular fabric. See here

For tough dirt and stains, there are commercial carpet cleaning solutions that you can use to remove them. Some would use vinegar and water solution to do this. Just mix 1 part vinegar and 1 part water. But remember, too much of everything may not be good for your car floor. So make sure to use these solutions moderately.

Personally taking care of your car’s floor will also save you money from going to professional car cleaning services often- which can be pretty expensive. With proper care and maintenance, you can always keep your car floor’s upholstery nice and clean.
